Casting into open water and a brand new Red Eye Shad turns to this after 3 casts. No snags, no binds just open water cast and retrieve. This is the 3rd Strike King lure to have this happen. Am I crazy or should the detail of an almost $10 lure last longer than 3-5 casts?!? End rant.

Had the same thing happen. I know they will probably replace them but that is just junk replaced by junk.
Rather go with Excalibur. Don't have to call them up.

Um that may be a blessing! I had an old hot spot trap chrome/blk back where the paint flaked like that to that dull white plastic and got better and better is it equally flaked off!

I have never been impressed with anything with a Strike King name on it.

They generally do that when you throw them the wrong time of the year. I never had any problems and have thrown them for years. You also might think about sucker punching the guy who is selling you those for 10 bucks, they retail much lower and on sale is around 4 bucks fitty.

Nuts I have a pile of them that peeled like that thought they fixed it but guess not. I resorted to spraying them with clear coat which helps a bunch. Seems to only be a problem on gold and chrome. Strike King stuff is junky but they have good actions when they run right, love hate relationship for me.

And at $6 to $14 for the deeper crankbaits a sucker punch is not necessary.

$10? You gotta quit buying lures at Gander Mountain or Dicks. . . Those things should cost about $5 or $6.

I've noticed that it's only certain colors that this happens with. Seems like the chrome is what's doing it. Flat colors aren't. I'm sure there's more to it. I have a box full of them in the garage that I intended to sand down to the plastic and have someone repaint in something I like better. Just time and money. Something I find I have less and less of.
