Spent a few hours out carping this afternoon, found an open patch of water among the thawing ice (background), water is in the mid to upper 30's up here, and quite stained where I was.

Landed my first open water carp of the season, missed another one too. Both hit my "Sweet dream" popup boilies.

Landed 2 carp (11 and 13.5 lbs) in a short 3.5 hour session this afternoon, despite high winds, cold, and some snow flurries. Lots of surface activity despite the cold front too. Bigs ones should be making their way in over the next week or two. smile
