Has anybody ever fished the little lake east of lake worth off of 820? Gonna give it a go on Friday evening, it looks like it has potential

It was a real jewel back when I was in high school. Used to be full of hydrilla. Now unfortunately the meat haulers have really taken a toll.

There are definitely still fish in it. You can fish the whole lake in a day pretty easily. Be careful leaving anything valuable in your truck though, I know they've had problems in the past with thieves.

A 10 lber was shocked up last year that was confirmed to be the spawn of an SAL, so there are big fish in there. It's a tough lake to fish for sure. There is grass on the norther end that's tempting, there is a huge point that's deep in the middle, there is a dam, cattails, as you said, it is hard to believe it's so hard to fish, but a lot of people struggle there.

I've only caught dinks. Had a few decent days, numbers wise, from the bank, but that's it. I keep going back, determined to figure it out.

I'd throw a chatterbait and flip a light Texas rig (whatever plastic you want). Throw a shaky head on the dam as well.

The lake was a test lab for the SAL program back in the 90's. I've fished it a bunch and it can be a tough little lake. go up to the north end and fish the creeks with a white jig and you'll catch some. also chartruesse seems to be the color of choice for that lake most of the time. Also, I have never had a problem with theft out there either and I've fished it at night.

I used to fish that lake quite a bit during the summer a few years ago. I'd flip a plastic in the shallow grass clumps and catch maybe a dozen fish early, once the sun got up it got tough. Deep crank, football jig, c-rig, something deep on the damn or points, or roadbed. Just go fishing.

And I'm with Zipster, never had a problem with theft out there. Always looks a little sketchy but I've never had a bad experience.

Thats my money fish

In the summer it gets a little tough waiting for people to move off the boat ramp to launch too.

That lake can get frustrating at times but it's a nice clean lake ( minus the garbage partying by the boat ramp ).

Agree with chartreuse. That does seem to be the best color out there, but I also throw it a lot anyway.

I've never had an issue with theft or break ins, but I know several years ago it was an issue. They closed the ramp on the west side, so the only ramp is right by the school. Not sure if that had anything to do with it.

I've also heard stories of people unable to launch because people are throwing a party on the dock and won't move or stop swimming from in front of it. There is a sign that says no swimming around the dock and you're only supposed to be on it for boat launching purposes but there are idiots in this world.
