That snake would probably have driven off with my jet ski. LOL - I would do the same. I caught a large (I mean LARGE) water moccasin at Ray Hubbard on live perch last year. I cut the line, picked up my stuff and left LOL

The one I hooked was a very aggressive Texas Blotched Water Snake. He struck at my lure when I was messing with him with a huge 6 inch shad in his mouth. This is like the one I stayed clear of last year. Yes they can strike on water and swim quite fast. This is what you get West Texas and lakes. Floating rattlers.
