What rod length and action do you prefer for your C-rig rod?

I throw a c-rig a bunch and I use a 7'6" heavy action rod with a fast tip. The length of the rod and the fast action let's me throw it a mile which can very important with using a c-rig.

7'6 medium heavy is perfect. I will go to a heavy if throwing about 1oz which isn't very often. Action I tend to lean towards a mod-fast I like how the rod loads which helps me land fish on a long cast better.

I've used a 7'3" MH Kistler KLX with a fast tip for the past year and have really liked it.

I like my Carolina Rig All Star rod a lot!

These are the 3 that I have used over the years. I started with a Falcon Lizard Dragger 7-6 in length, then moved up to a Kistler Helium 7-6 H action, and now I currently use a Dobyns 784 Extreme. It is the best of all three, but also the most expensive. I have two of these I since I liked it so well.

I like the Carolina Rig rod from Dobyns Champion line. It is an 804 with a fast tip. Otherwise, a 7'6" H or XH rod, depending on which rod manufacturer you look at. Hope this helps.

Tight lines, keep safe and good luck.

The Carolina Riggin' Special (804) from Dobyns is an awesome C.R. tool. I place it above all others I have used for the purpose.

Dobyns Champion 734C

I like this rod because it has a fast tip and it's easy to set the hook in deep water.

G. Loomis BCR 875 in either GLX or Mossyback series. Extra heavy fast action. That being said, I seldom throw less than 3/4 oz.
