Since some of the lakes have come back up, shallow water fishing can be even more tricky now. Tawakoni for instance, rose 5' in a short amount of time. Any place less than 5' deep now was dry ground for a long time until recently, and most of them are covered with submerged grass now. So I was forced to move out just a bit deeper to find water that wasn't dry ground just a few weeks ago.
I look for the shallow water that is adjacent to deeper water and fish the edges of the shallow flat, maybe even right on the edge so we can fish shallow off one side of the boat and deeper off the other, and then adjust according to what the fish are doing.
Best thing to do is find a boat sitting there catching fish, and pull right up beside them to fish.
