 ? Glue AND Staple Bunk Carpet?

Local dealer says when they do bunks they glue AND staple the carpet. Good idea or overkill?  Interesting aside: Told me I'm better off doing it myself. Told me he'll do it if I want him to but there's no sense to it because it's so easy to do I'd just be wasting my money having him do it.
Fishing, a man knows a serenity of soul and peace of mind that he finds in doing nothing else, and it makes no difference whether or not he catches anything. The mind of a true fisherman is not on petty subjects.

I just staple and have never had a problem even with plain staples.

I just put on some Ultimate Bunkboards...no carpet, no wood rot. Took about 20 minutes to install.
