With all the new water streaming into N. TX lakes and especially rising Ray Roberts, how are you going to fish the muddy water? I have some ideas, but that's all they are, so that's why I asking. I have an expected nice warm, fairly calm day for my old bones to able to get on the water day and am curious as to how others might approach fishing in the rising muddy water. Thanks.

Slow, then slower with dark colors.

I would actually consider fishing the water where the stained meets the clear, or the mud line. Throw a spinner bait, chatter bait, or swim jig if wind exists. If not then pitch and flip around the area.

Dark blue Skinny Dipper swim bait. The big paddle tail and dark color make it easy for bass to find it. Other "go to" on a cloudy day with muddy water is a black/blue jig with a black zoom craw and add a rattle or two.

Look for the cleanest water you can find and stay in it. In general, look for the coves that have the smallest feeder creeks or small main lake pockets.

Set the hook first, ask questions later!!!

been fishing in this new water for what, 3 weeks now? I've decided to slow it down and have been working the magic senko. Black frog in afternoons, catching anywhere from 2-10 fish a evening in muddy water

Yesterday with the cool front, north wind, and muddy water; I started off fishing tight to cover flipping a Trig.
Nothing, not a bite. Switched to a soft plastic swim bait with an orange belly on an underspin and the same swimbait on a chatterbait. Got bites on both at the old, deeper inner grassline edge (not the newer shallower grassline with the higher water)

Pretty much all the standards right here, I'd add a big black/blue chatterbait with a bulky trailer to this list. Fish as tight to cover as you can. Think what you do if all of the sudden a room went black..you'd find something to touch so that you could get your bearings. Fish do something very similar. Rarely will you find fish just cruising around in muddy water.

Side note: I highly doubt we got enough rain to make any lake totally muddy from one end to another. Find the cleanest water you can and fish it.
