 First time fishing with my hand tied Jigs

So i've been making jigs for awhile and stay busy making them. Friday evening, decided to go to the Marina over here on Somerville and try some out. I had my lil crappie pole, 4 jigs tied to it, using 4lb test. So im sitting there "jigging" and all of a sudden WHAM!! I set the hook, line goes screeching and i'm thinkin "oh boy, its a beast. This has to be a lake record crappie!" After a few minutes of fighting the monster, i get him on the dock.. So much for it being a lake record crappie.
