I've never been to Big Sam. Live in Houston now, so it's relatively close. Where are good places to stay without having to use the big motor for forty miles prior to dropping the trolling motor this time of year? Not looking for secret holes, just a good time with comfortable accommodations and decent restaurants hopefully. I've always wanted to go there and Toledo Bend. Hitting one of the two at least barring weather issues this weekend. Thanks for any advice.

Avoid Rayburn at all cost this weekend. I would go stay at fin an feathers on Toledo.

Funny. I've been so out of the loop on the tournament info the last several years, I didn't even realize the Big Bass Splash was at Rayburn this weekend. Glad I asked. I guess I could look at Toledo Bend then. Thanks so far for the recommendations.

Stay at fin and feather on Toledo, it's in housen bay. It's nice, has resturaunt etc there.

Housen bay and six mile the next bay south have good fish.

Fin & Feather Restaurant has an excellent cook in the kitchen for the morning shift. Best bacon & eggs I've had in a long time!!!

Haven't heard yet. I would guess they end up with about 3000-3500. It won't be near as many as last year simply because it's not a million dollar payout like their anniversary years.

Advice? Wise men don't need it. Fools won't heed it.

Powell Marina. I have stayed in their cabins and rv spots, good people. They also have a cafe with good food. Nice boat ramp. get to know the lake before running fast, lots of stumps.

Not unless everyone fishes solo.
