 pontoon problem

my brother has a leak somewhere in one of the pontoons on his boat.it has enough water in it to sink that side below the water line.what is the easiest way to get the water out?
I had to call in sick. My arm is in a cast!!!

if there's an inspection hole, use a baitwell pump to pump it out. not sure how they are built, might be baffled. if you need to, use a hole saw and cut a hole where you need it and have a inspection hand hole welded into the pontoon after you get it on the trailer.

Some pontoons are air filled: tracker/bennington, some are foam filled. Air filled are repairable, foam filled really aren't. Most air pontoons have a tire valve you can pressurize and find a leak fast.
What does he have?

it's a tracker & he did mention a cap on top of pontoon but wasn't sure what it was for.if it's an air valve would he just put an air hose to it? would this evacuate the water? I do believe the floats are baffled

I have a voyager. My toons have a threaded plug at the bottom rear of each one. Nothing like that on the tracker?

no.nothing on the bottom.just a hole in the top.just big enough to fit a small hose in.

The plugs on top are most likely access holes. You can pump the water out through these, but then you must find and repair the leak. If you pressure test be extremely careful, 2 or 3 psi maximum. The pontoon will explode!

I consider myself pretty handy but when I read about exploding pontoons I thought it best to have a pro do this one. Found someone at a Tracker dealer in Plano to fix this problem for under $300. Money well spent in my eyes. I would hate to sink my brothers boat. Thanks guys for your help. I have learned something new,yet again,on the TFF.
