I got out for a few hours this afternoon. I was checking weather radar fairly often, but nothing ever got too close, so I got to fish for a few hours.

I ended up catching 14 keeping size crappie. Most were just solid black crappie, but I did catch one 2 pound white crappie. I caught the fish on brush and concrete 8 to 14 feet deep, in 9 to 20 feet of water. All were caught on a 3/32 oz jig with my homemade plastic shad baits. Best color was blue/chartreuse, but I also caught some on dark gray shad. All fish were released today. I did try a couple of shallow spots, but didn't catch anything shallow.

I was seeing some of the bigcrappie.com guys fishing quite a bit today (you know you must be in a pretty good area if you're seeing these guys fishing). Chris stopped by and introduced himself. (Nice meeting you, Chris!)

I broke out the scale for this one. It weighed 2.02.

It was 72 degrees when I looked at it in a shallow cove. I honestly forgot to check while I was on the main lake. I'm thinking it's likely upper 60's.

Nice report, thanks! I'm surprised that the bad weather did not affect the bite. hammer
