Hell of a friend, And a good friend he must be.
At least Skeet Reese told everybody the truth about the bait.

Everyone and their brother knew it was a SB bite..had been for weeks. Albeit SBs are not Skeet's MO...Ike tried to buck the SB bite by throwing a C-rig.
On a side note: We normally don't follow the BASS much..more of an FLW thing...but thanks elites for proving yet again that Gville is one of the best single swimbait lakes in the country right now...

G-Ville is one of the Best SB lakes in the Country ,, seems more the grass dies the better the SB bite gets.. IKE should have just hit one of the bridges to get a limit the last day..

Got that right 15lbs and he'd been top 5-6..I wonder if he might not have been a little stubborn or couldn't get in on the bridges, but with only 12 the last day you'd think he could've got a limit regardless.

Thought Skeet won one on Clark's Hill a couple years back on a swimbait?

He did and I think it was his version of a Rago (SKT model).

Lost track of time...I knew he hadn't won on Gville since 10...being a Cali guy would make sense. Always thought of him as more of a crank guy being with Lucky Craft. I'll amend this by saying it's getting more and more difficult to decipher truth and fiction these days with laxed sponsorship/conflict of intrest issues.

I think "Best" when referring to anything bass fishing Lake wise still belongs to Lake Fork, that is according to Keith Combs results from the TTBC last year! Guntersville is good but when I think of "Best" it usually goes hand and hand with # 1 overall.

They said best swimbait not best although plenty of people would make a case for Guntersville. She's a beauty.

He is. He's a west coast guy and has been friends with Velvick for years and Skeet's been swimbaiting for a long time. Skeet's versatile enough to catch them on whatever it takes. I seem to remember him winning a tournament on Smith Lake with a swimbait quite a few years ago. Dunno what CUTriton's talking about.

Swim bait was only good for 30 to 32# a day on Fork during last years TTBC. I rode with Mark Rose on day 2. He probably caught 15 or so that were 5.75# or 6.0# on the same swim bait they were throwing at Guntersville. Deep on a 3/4 ounce jig head slow rolled. It's pretty good when you need something over 6 to cull.
