Take you a throw net so you can catch Talapia. Bass kill off three times last year. It still has fish just brought the numbers down drastically.
Good luck. Get on them early in the grass then move out.

We went Saturday. From the amount of trucks/trailers in the parking lot, we thought that their was a club tournament taking place. Wrong! The majority of them belonged to tilapia netters. You know what I'm referring to here; 12 people in an aluminum flat boat. They were everywhere. I normally don't give a flip about them except for the fact that they were going all through the reeds with their boats and nets. We caught 3 small fish early and never got another bite. The LMB were probably driven into deeper water. We won't be going back for a while.

Be safe,

Bass weren't killed off 3 times last year. Of the fish kills over the last 3 years, a very small percentage of those fish included bass. If you guys wanna not fish it by all means dont but don't let folks misguide you.

Every bass I've caught there this year has been super healthy and fat. Anywhere from 2-6 lbs. the cast netters are annoying but they aren't everywhere. fish the outer weed line 8-12' slow and with creature bait.

CDub, maybe we should just let people keep thinking there aren't any fish left. More for us locals! wink

They're still there in some capacity. Guy caught a 30"+ today at our bass tournament Carolina rigging. That's all I know.

This was from last summer by "the beach" in the state park. Would LOVE to go back there and fish again. Was catching LMB like crazy with minnows. All very healthy and about 14-20 inches.

That pic just above was from last fall, about 8 like that fishing off the bank with minnows. Still in there too, I let them go to see another day. Current status, not sure about.

Man, I loved that lake...before all the fish kills. Good to see it coming back some.
