In all my years of fishing lakes in North Texas, I have always come to the conclusion that Lake Arlington had the most shoreline trash. Where else can you actually get on a dirty diaper pattern, or a firestone whitewall patter?

But after spending two days on Joe Pool this weekend, I have never seen a lake with so much shoreline trash. It was literally almost 100% of the shoreline is covered in bottles and cans and plastic of all sorts. I know there are a couple of huge state parks, and they stay packed almost year round, but it was truly nasty.
Even some of the busier lakes around (Grapevine/Lewisville) don't have this amount of trash.

I know I have been guilty of accidently loosing a can or cup while running down the lake, but more times than not, I have been idling or trolling and will pick stuff up floating past me when its not too much of trouble.

Sad ain't it? All you can do is teach and influence the ones around you. Sad to say there are many people who take to the lakes who have never been taught the proper values and laws of the lake.

If it ain't yours don't mess with it!

After a big rise and flowing creeks I can understand seeing it piled in, Husker is going to be fighting that for a while, but this lake has been constant for a long time. It was just sad.

You have a better chance catching trash with treble hooks than vegetation or brush at Arlington.

Same here. Joe pool is much cleaner than Arlington IMO.

Not sure the names of the coves, but the two big ones going west from Lynn Creek under the bridge on the north side of the lake.

Arlington has one semi clean side, but the trailer park on the other side does it share to make up for it...
