When I was there last year, we did the best on Senkos in pumpkin and green pumpkin. I remember not having much luck on anything other than a white buzz bait and weightless Senkos. That northern arm was better for us, specifically the southern shore of it. There's a beaver type dam/pile of wood down at the end that held some better fish. Also, fish the timber off of the main lake point there.

Good luck..... absolutely beautiful lake.

I like this question!
IMO
Mag fluke tx rig- 1/2 oz sinker-
Large squarebill
Large Colorado blade spinnerbait

If water stained like 1ft or less visibility this stuff will work and you can use braid- 50-65lb.
Try to bang something with that stuff- rock, wood, something to get a big reaction strike.
Fish very slow and calm and be happy if you catch nothing- go big or go home happy you tried.
Catch little fish at your local lake- you do not want them on your line.
If you fish shallow make sure relatively deep water is very near.
Without anymore info that's all I can say but good luck!- hope you do it!
They may be spawning - if it's stained the fluke will get the big bite but slow it down!

Absolutely

Personally, I'd rig a rod with 50lb braid with a 3/0 texas rigged craw that floats drop shot to a 1 oz weight and drop it at the outside grass line. I'd try to find where grass meets other good cover/structure grass next to rock, grass next to a drop off or drain. I'd be patient, maybe eat a sandwich while I've got the heavy drop shot out there.

I'd also throw big noisy topwaters, frogs, and big swimbaits in and ontop of the grass.

PS--need coordinates so I could topo map it for you for more details. smile

Looking at Google earth images from 1995, looks like the water was very low---you can see more of the tree tops and humps that are now under water. That place looks great, wishing you good fishing.

Looking at the topo map, I circle areas between highest point(s) and lowest point(s) with creek bends, points, and/or sumberged trees

When you arrive and see that the water is really murky from this week's rains, I'd also recommend a chatterbait (gold blade) with an LFT magic shad with some orange or chartreuse coloring in the grass and open water. Take several, chatterbaits tend to snag on timber. Take some dip and glo and worm rattles in case the water is really stained, so you can add them to the soft plastics you have the most confidence.

White/clear sparkle zoom fluke t-rig worked wonders for me in stained water. Hard twitch twitch and slow reel is how I got most of mine. Even t-rigged with an 1/8 split shot 8-10 inches up worked well. Gave the fish a little slower drop after the twitch
