we drove there and paid for registration at 5am the day of tournament. easy process. got a sweet hat and cool t shirt. got lucky and drew early boat draw. we had never seen the lake so we just tucked it in the first good looking spawning cove we found on the map. it was a tough day but there was a 2-3 hour window where we got all of our bites. we caught about 9 fish and never could cull our small 1.5lb fish. we had 2 4's and a 3 that we were hoping could get us a check...long story short from running live well and talons all day our starting battery ran out cause we never left our cove...boat wouldn't start at 2:45. Full panic set in. few f bombs later and some great guy in a ranger jumped us and we drove 70 back to weigh in. made it just in time at 3. i left my shorts a little surprise after that run we made and getting air borne as many times as we did.

we stayed around hoping to make top 36. We had 14.57 and after weigh in chad said "we are paying all the way through 14.57"..i called my wife and told her i was taking her out to eat cause i had $300 coming home.... sadly the last check was to 14.62 and we got $50 gift card to fun n sun...heart breaking moment. I told my partner I feel like i just lost a high school girl fiend. i had to try and explain to my wife that the dinner reference was now just a joke cause we didnt get 36th but 37th.

the positive side: it was the best event I have ever been to. good staff. good boat launches. free food afterwards. i will be fishing them for many years to come. glad i bought a skeeter =)

it was complete luck we caught some fish, we saw 4 boats the entire day lol so I wouldn't say we were fishing prime real estate. it was just a good event, i enjoyed it very much. great morning prayer. fast weigh in. good give-a-ways. im excited for the next ones. thank you JCHANDLER for hooking us up on the water (pun intended). you saved us.

+1 We only caught one little dink and didn't even bother to weigh in.

You never want a drink of water till the well runs dry
