Thinking about getting some and wondering if any of you guys wear them. Started wearing a buff last year mainly to protect my neck and ears but I've seen guys on the tours wearing the gloves too. I like the looks and price of the Cabelas Guidewear gloves plus they aren't slick palmed like the Glacier gloves at BP. Input appreciated.

Glacier are nice. Winter or Summer, you won't see me fishing without them. But then again, most folks have not had pre-cancers burned off their hands and face as much as me- blond blue-eyed does not help.

What ever you get, wear them.

Since you reminded me about the subject, I did a search and ordered the best deal I could find, which was the Simms brand again, this one on ebay and $20 less than Amazon stores (about $20 incl shipping).

I use Simms. The smell is hard to get out but they work great.

I like all the fingers to be long not to just protect from the sun but to cut down on line cuts and lipping when catching 100 bass per day in Mexico.

To get this I purchase a good leather palm batting glove and cut the first finger joint out which is just the tip. Then I have to use needle and thread to whip stitch each seam so the seams do not separate. It takes time to do this but the fit and comfort is there as well as the toughness.

I use the cabelas guide-wear gloves and sleeves. No sunburns and they are comfortable enough to wear all day.

Went with the Guidewear gloves from Cabelas. Like the palms better than the Glacier Gloves. Cabelas in Allen had them on sale for 9.99. They also had a pretty good selection of LC Live Pointer 95's under $10.

I wear the sleeves that cover the hand. I have to have the ones with a thumbhole to keep them in place. I don't like my fingers being covered.

I use the Aftco sun gloves and the long sleeve performance shirts with the thumb holes in them. They are light weight and comfortable. You can order them straight from the website aftco.com

The Columbia sun gloves work well and are priced right.

I wear Simms. Love them. Palms and fingers are open in the right places. Coverage is just right.

I use the Buff Angler II fishing gloves, and I love them. Have plenty of grip and all the fingers are out so it's still easy to tie lures. I think they were in the $40, but I got mine as a gift for Christmas.

I wear the Academy brand Magellan, gloves and neck gator. I feel silly wearing them but they work well.

They are well worth getting...keeps the sun off and you can fish longer.

I got a major sunburn last summer, bad enough that I couldn't fish for a week or so and had to go to the damn dr, so I started wearing Buffs gloves. After about an hour of fishing with them on I didn't even notice then anymore. I really wish I had been wearing them the whole time. If you are really on the fence about gloves, look up Barry Stokes and what he went thru with his hands. . .

I fish from a float tube in California and these gloves are a must since you cannot escape the sun. They also keep your hands cool when the get wet.
