Sometimes on a stump filled lake like Roberts you cannot always take off or sit down just anywhere, some of those guys are running over the tops of stumps that maybe just two feet under the surface, not trying to take up for the guy but this may have been the case.

We were in Sand Branch that morning and saw this happen. There was absolutely no reason to do what he did except to get in front of you and then he idled down the bank to cut in front of us and one other boat going down that bank. We were hoping that he would have speared a stump through his boat so we could make fun of him being a jerk. No reason for such unsportsmanship.

The same thing happened to me out on the main lake. I slowed down and was putting though the stumps by Wolf Island and 2 bass champs dumb asses passed me doing about 70mph less than 10 feet away. One was a big yellow boat and the other was a Nitro Z8. Then I saw several guys cut each other off going into the creek. They were all fishing that Bass Champs tournament. One day someone is going to put them in their place acting like that.

So are all the stumps the exact same distance under the surface? Do they know the location of all the stumps? Are they that good?

This kind of driving is what keeps the boat mechanics in business if they survive the accident.

I've seen some bad ones on The Pines and it's always the smart ones that think they know the lake and know where all the hazards are. It has always amazed me to watch some of these boat operators buzz over stumps like they do. I'd rather slow down and live another day.

If it ain't yours don't mess with it!

I don't know the answer to that, I do know that if I am on pad and feel it is unsafe to sit down then I am staying on pad, I have had similar situations where the boat that was on pad waved his hands wanting to know if it was ok to come on through, i just waved them on. You are going to have stuff like that happen in large tourneys, glad no one had a bad accident.

Im pritty sure I know the guy your describing and if it is him hes on the lake 3-4 a week but no excuse to run that close, if your in the lane to run and see someone coming get out of the way. I seen alot of guys idleing the gap through wolf Island into indian, im not idleing an hour to get into wolf but im also on the lake a bunch and have learned where those one and two stumps are under the water from idleing alot every year the lake changes level. When the lake changes level I dont run certain spots that I am unsure of.

I've had a few do it this year. It isn't as common as it should be though.

So if you are fishing an unmarked "lane" that only locals run and a boat comes flying through, whos in the wrong?
