Everyone who fish Richland Chambers and Cedar Creek need to be careful about what you think is a sandbass. The TP@W stocked Sunshine Bass in RC in 2013 and 2014 and in Cedar in 2014.

Palmetto- female striped bass x male white bass Sunshine- white bass female x male striped bass
For years the Palmetto was the only one listed on the TP&W site. Richland Chambers has been stocked with both the last 2 years. In 2014 most all the lakes that get stocked with hybrids received both. I was told that the state purchased some extra fish last year from an independent hatchery to increase numbers and that was the reason for stocking both types. As far as ID there is no difference in sunshine vs palmetto. I've read that the palmetto grows a little faster and gets a little larger but I'm not sure if that's true. Most of the data on things like that come from the aquaculture industry and probably are not a true reflection of lake conditions

If the fish only did better, they'd need to stock "paradise" bass so people can identify hybrids... yellow bass x striper.
