Is the Cypress Cove boat ramp open in the river above Canyon Lake?

Nope, unfortunately been dry for quite a awhile. The only ramps open on the north end is Potter Creek Public and inside Potter Creek COE Park and the Cranes Mill Marina. There are several on the South end. If you're a kayaker and trying to get to the river then you can probably get in at Mystic Shores or Cypress Cove.

The rains we recently had didn't have much effect on Canyon. I just checked the daily lake level report and it looks grim. Just didn't get rain in the right area and if so it wasn't enough.

Jimbo....No kidding. Still trying to figure out the recharge area. The lake level has only fluctuated a couple 1/10ths and we have been getting plenty of rain to the north of us..Be careful out there...The shores are getting rockier and the stumps are getting stumpier.....

There is so much development over the recharge and more than one aquifer that I believe most of the water goes directly into the ground when we do get some good rains filling the void left by the high demand. Until those aquifers fill to capacity we probably won't see much in the way of flow from the Guadelupe. Of course that's just my theory and why I think the Guad doesn't have the strong flow it had in years past. No one would ever admit it when there is a lot of money to be made.

Side Note: The tubing business depends on that river flow from spring till fall.

The building hasn't slowed down, and the water restrictions continue and we keep waiting for that one good frog strangler to happen to fill all our lakes and then we'll kick the can further down the line and let others worry about it.
