What is y'alls opinion on the best boat for both fresh and saltwater. Don't need it for offshore or anything mainly just the flats and the occasional jetty trip on a nice day

I'd have to say a 18-20ft Aluminum center console with a jackplate. Can get you in/past most shallow flats on the coast, can get out to the jettys on a day with reasonable weather without getting beat too hard. And can handle the lakes with ease.
