I have bought a new non current outboard and I've bought a boat as well, as well as 3 motorcycles,unlike Craig's list
There are some protections under ebay buyer protection plan

Yes you have buyer protection with e-bay, nothing with craigslist.

Be careful last i got messed over i found out you only get your money back if the seller has money in their account.
