So, being new to fishing, especially on Hickory Creek, but living in the Denton area I have to ask, does anyone fish Hickory Creek after the white bass are gone? If so, what fish are left?

Having caught and seen carp in this creek while fishing for sandies, I'm assuming they are usually there.

But what else? Or am I just wasting my time daydreaming?

There are gar and catfish in there, but when it gets just a little warmer you've got to deal with the snakes and an ungodly amount of mosquitos.

Thanks for the feedback.

The mosquitos I think I can handle, snakes on the other hand... eck..

I guess I can just set up and look for catfish. I wouldn't mind trying my hand at gar. I've seen quite a few in there this spring, in fact I saw a beast in there just tonight.

It feels like such a shame living so close to the creek and not using it 11 months out of the year.
