I have never been to the Lake Palestine Spillway but would like to fish it. If you know any tips on fishing the spillway I would love to hear from you. I heard people catch some good Stripers out of it.

Dont think they are releasing any water from the dam? Unless it just a spillway?

Lake is 1ft over regular pool.

Take some 1/2 oz jig heads and some swimming fluke type baits in shad colors. I haven't been in over a week. Does anyone have a recent fishing report?

Haven't been down there in awhile but my guess is the flow will be very swift with how high the lake is right now.

I fish it for bass and sunfish. Have also caught the occasional white bass.

Going to try for gar there this year with some of the sunfish I catch.

If youre expecting to catch anything, go somewhere else.

Was there this morning and didnt see one fish being caught except shad in cast nets.

I've been there a bunch, but will wait for the flow to decrease before my next trip.

I fish out of a kayak and can get to some cool spots.

Do you fish below the 175 bridge?
