Any recommendations on whether to mount my green led light strips face out away from my boat or straight down for attracting baitfish?

Preferably under the water line when sitting still then it does no matter.

Any suggestions on mounting/wiring? As of now I'm just planning on using adhesive gel to glue them directly to the boat. Then wire them to my nab lights.

No suggestions on mounting but I would personally wire them to a switch by themselves. Sometimes it is nice to be able to fish at night in the dark. Plus I am not sure how the law reads about running at night with these on, and too many people can follow you around while they are on. Just my opinion.

Yes, do not wire them to your Nav lights. You need to be able to turn them off so you can run legal when navigating, then turn the fishing lights on when you stop to fish. If you have them on while running people cannot judge as accurately your speed and direction as they can when you just have your Nav lights on. Most people could care less it seems, but it's not legal to run with the LED's on.

But yes, point them down at the water if above the waterline. Most strips have something like a 120 degree projection, so they'll shine out a good ways as well as down.

I def wanna stay within the law considering I work for the local SO and they highly frown upon us getting any sort of citations lol. guess I'll be hunting a different power source to tap into. Maybe an inline fuse to the inline ir remote antenna to the trolling motor. Idk I'm good with AC electrical but 12v dc kinda has me puzzled for some odd reason.
