Lets say a person has an innovative boat accessory idea, how much could he sell it for and what boat manufacture would be best to contact or most likely to buy a cutting edge idea?

Without knowing more info, how could we even estimate a price?

If your cutting edge idea is a revolutionary cup-holder, I'm going to say around $5. If you have sonar technology that finds the biggest bass in the lake and casts your bait directly in front of him, I think around $50,000. So you're going to have to give a little bit more info if you want a price guestimate. My unofficial answer is: somewhere between $5 and $50,000.

I suggest putting it in for a patent immediately. Even a $5 cup holder on 50,000+ boats is a quarter million

Patent the idea first and foremost. I would believe Nitro, Skeeter, and Ranger will have the biggest budgets for an innovative idea.
Politicians, baseball players, high-powered corporate CEO's they all seem to eventually let us down. Nature, however, does not. Look to her for inspiration and you will learn the secrets to living a good life. The most Important lesson it would seem is to make sure you spend as much time fishing as anything else.

Interesting thoughts, I wasnt sure if a manufacture like Basscat or a bigger company would be more likely to fork out some dough.
I know every single person with a bassboat would want this on their boat.

If you don't patent it they can just say thanks and make it themselves. If you tell anyone about it before you have applied the person you tell can patent it first and you loose. If it is something you really want to pursue talk to a patent attorney first.

First you have to do a patent search to see if someone else already is preventing you from creating it, then apply for a patent. Since you are asking the question that you did, I would assume that you are going to need a patent attorney. After you invest about $25,000, you will be ready to present it to boat companies and see I'd they are willing to do anything with it.

in order to present to companies after you have your patent, you will want to develop some prototypes.
Oh, try and comoditize the product. Get multiple buyers!
