I'm heading down in a couple weeks and can't find anything new as far as conditions go. I know the lake is about 24 feet low but that's about it. Is there any hydrilla left? Anything anyone can provide would be appreciated. I'll post a report when I return.

24'???? It is 28' low, I did ok caught a 7lber and a bunch of dinks. Zero grass in the lake and if you don't have a gps chart plotter on your boat be ready to stick it in the mud. Just getting out of Calliham cove requires running the channel. There's some pretty scary stuff sticking out right now. If the wind isn't blowing too bad I might head down this weekend.

The white bass will tear up your baits as well if you're in a decent area.

South Shore ramp is completely closed, so you have to go to Calliham.

Also I want to add that the town is on the verge of a ghost town on weekends due to the oil slowdown, not a lot of restaurants open on the weekends. But there is always DQ and the little store in Calliham is not open early for snack or breakfast so take your own with you. No gas there either, pretty dismal excuse for a store to be honest. They don't have live bait either while I'm thinking about it (if you wanted to go crappie, gaspergoo or white bass fishing).

Thanks for the info. We're going down on the 24th to get away from the San Antonio crowds (Battle of Flowers). I just retried from the Air Force and haven't been to Choke in about 8 years. Thanks for the info about Three Rivers as well. Please PM or post a report if you head down this weekend.
