Headed to Lake Fork with my new Hobie Pro Angler. Could use some advice on what campground to stay at and where to fish with my yak. Will stay away from Lake Fork on the weekends to avoid the tourneys. Any suggestions on what coves to fish in order to stay out of the way of the power boats?

Thanks in advance

Just got back from Fork a couple weeks ago. Fork has only one boat lane due to all the stumps. You wont have a problem staying away from them. We didn't do so hot, so I don't have any advice on where to fish. Get a topo map from the marina.

I don't know if lake fork marina has camping spots or not but there's good fishing areas close to there. There's big mustang, little mustang or you could drive just down the road to Williams and launch your yak there also. Should be able to catch fish in any one of those coves. Good luck

A really good area for Yak camping would be Little Mustang. Camp there and you have 3 med to large coves to select from. The lake will be very busy but the fishing is good. Have Fun

Chaney Point Fishing Camp.. Home page http://www.chaneypoint.com/contact-us.php.

Google earth https://maps.google.com/maps?ll=32.79793,-95.56738&z=17&t=h&output=classic&dg=brw

Great place to launch the Yak. Protected from the prevailing southerlys, relatively short paddle to big water, great fishing in the cove its self. Its a popular place for us Yakers so call ahead and good hunting.

Your welcome. Love trout fishing the N. Platte. May look you up someday.

Almost any cove/pocket on Yantis side out of the wind you should catch fish. It's amazing right now
