So my girlfriends dad has a kayak and with spring here I'd like to go fish out of it since a lot of my bank spots are dry around me. This kayak has no tags or anything on it. I know I need a life jacket on but are there any other regulations to fish out of one on a texas lake? Do I need anything else with me to be legal? I read the Texas parks description but It wasn't clear to me and didn't want to be explaining myself to a warden!! Thank yall for the help!

PFD, Whistle, and a 360 light if you're going to be out after dusk.

You'll also want a piggy bank so you can start saving up for your own kayak because they're addictive.

Also a float for your rod and stay shallow until you are comfortable. Not knowing what you have it may not be terribly stable plus one of the hardest things to learn at first is not overreacting and overcorrecting.

X2 on the addictiveness of a kayak.

Don't need to register the kayak unless you are using a sail and it is 14 ft or longer, or if you are using a motor (electric or otherwise) no matter what the size of the kayak is.

That would have to be a very large piggy bank, especially for the kayak brand u have listed in your Sig....
He's right though, it's addictive. I started out with one kayak and now have four.
Have fun

You should learn, and confirm that you can do, a deep water reentry before you venture out deep, especially in cooler water.
