That is interesting, cottonseed cake is the bomb for catching carp.

Never tried them, never will. Do know the glitter in them is a bitch to get out of upholstery on the truck seats. (Buddy bought some, didn't work apparently)Jigs tipped with a Berkley crappie nibble work just as well if not better. My 2 cents.

Keep on fishing.

Yes. I have three of these bricks on hand to bait my piles. I get bait fish within a couple of days and that attracts the crappie. I have caught more AFTER putting out the bricks and waiting a day or two. I use the small disposable mesh bait bags and just drop them with a rock on the brush pile and it is good for a week or two.
From what I know, cotton seed is the main attractant and these bricks DO NOT have any glitter. They work well in my experience.

Fishbonz, not sure what the shipping issue is but as far as the Cakes go just be sure to deploy them in some good crappie habitat thats NOT holding feeder fish. Trust me in a short while the feeder fish will be there and the crappie are not far behide. If theres a area thats already full of feeder fish then theres no need. A good condo with the cakes will hold fish.

I am pretty certain in one of the very early posts about crappie cakes, someone wanted to know what all the ingredients were. The maker rightfully declined to give away what all was in them but I'm about 99% certain he did say that cotton seed (meal or cake - can't recall) was one of the ingredients. I spent a good while searching for that thread and can't find it. Don't know if it got deleted or if it's just my bad searching skills but I can't find it now. I bet I'm not the only one who will remember reading it.
