Just started thinking about this. Is there anyone on here that fishes entirely soft plastics or entirely crankbaits, etc. Do you lean heavily toward one or the other and if so what would you say the ratio is... like 80%-20% or whatever. I have a very good selection of baits over-all but I do tend to lean more to soft plastics than the others unless I change species and fish for like hybrids or sandbass. Just interested to here from the big fishers on here.

I primarily fish soft plastics. Its what i learned to fish with and have just loved that technique. I would sya thought hat it is split 85% soft plastics, 15% cranks, jig, other, etc.

I've come close to fishing soft plastics 100% of the time. I was big into finesse fishing back in the day. Especially the last few years of my tournament days. It was a numbers thing. I'd go for a limit on the small plastics and then switch over to something else once I boated 5 keepers, but sometimes that would take all day.

I know one sleeveless guy that throws a 3/4 oz spinner bait all day every day....

My plans don't ever start out "planning on fishing plastics" but at some point that seems to be what I spend most of my time on. I think I just like the laid back pace of it. But I do like to fish wake baits early in the morning.

It depends on the fishing conditions. I tend to fish a lot of traps in the summer and fall, squarebills in the spring, and worms in the winter.
I do mix it up quite a bit at times. In the summer and winter I will also go with deep diving CBs. Lately I've added drop shot so I'll see where that fits in overall.
I keep trying jigs but never really catch anything on them.

I only fish soft plastics. Rarely ever throw hard baits at all.

I know two guys that do and I tell you what they are some fish catching fools. They don't use a bass boat and only texas rig. They are constantly catching quality fish only thing is they catch to eat. Them two guys live off the land and rarely go out to eat.

I have everything... and you know what... 80% of all my catches are on soft plastic. go figure. I've asked many people, and most would say the same unless a particular pattern is hot that day.

I primarily fish softplastics but do have some cranks I'll throw, more like a 90% to 10% thing for me, I have a wide variety of Softplastics and like to use them, then switch to a different color or something if I'm not getting bit

Something I failed to mention is I usually start my day with a Ratl-Trap, spinner bait, buzz bait, or top water until the sun gets up high enough to shine down in the water......When I feel that the fish are being pushed into the cover by the sun I switch. If it is cloudy or raining I am likely to stay away from soft plastics as well.
