I've never tried a weave. I don't think I have the patients for it. As far as "error" goes, don't worry about it, it will catch fish. My jig box is full of "errors", jigs where I missed a whip finish or whatever, and they usually catch fish as well as the "pretty" jigs.

looking good, I gave it a try but not my thing. A friend from Alabama sent me a couple of jigs a few days ago and got me wanting to try again. But, I will sure have to better than before. You have it down, just need to do some so as to have the feel for it to work in your jigs everyday.

Looks like you are almost there. Nothing wrong, but practice makes perfect and you are close.

Never tried to weave either. But i actually have a decent amount of "trial & error" jigs, and im sure we all do.
If you keep trying, im sure eventually you will get it. May check youtube or somewhere like that to see if they have a vid you can check out.

Weaves are not easy and if I have not done any in a while I have to go back to the description of how to, LOL! If you don't have the links to how to, shoot me a PM and I will give links to several ways to do a weave, but it's still not easy! Below are a couple I did some time back. Skip Granny Weave This is from way back, a Bitch Creek Tiger Weave. And one more of the same as above and just a hackle tail.
Peak Vise Dealer Tying Materials, Chenille and Hackle For Pictures of my Crystal, Nylon/Rayon or New Age Chenille Please PM Me! Also I have the Saltwater Neck Hackle and some colors of Marabou plus other things![/color]

Those are gorgeous as always, Skip. Now show us some ugly jigs you've tied. I know you have some skeletons that need to be let out of the closet.
