I was there in October trying to catch channel cat, which were slow. We saw a couple of teenagers in a jon boat wearing out the Tilapia on jigs. We started catching on Roadrunner jigs. We caught the larger fish fishing the bank and trees at the boat ramp. There is a creek above the intake where we caught the majority, but they are all over the lake.
I have heard that some people use lettuce, as they are stocked to eat excess vegetation.

Good luck.

They like the trees. You will catch them on jigs. You can also catch them with a simple split shot and hook combo. I have worn them out with earthworms before. Sometimes they are in the tops of trees. When that happens a bobber can help. Sometimes they are on the bottom. When they want to eat it can be easy pickins. I have also been there when we could see hundreds of them all with lock jaw. When that happens, we actually do better with artificial. I have a theory that when they are spawning they don't feed heavy but may still protect their nests. I have had a lot better luck fishing for the ones I don't see with my eyes. If I was going to target them, I would concentrate on sandy areas with trees in 3 to 10 foot of water.

If you have electronics they should be easy to find. Check the third cove from the dam on the east side. I always see them there. My wife and I caught them there on a KVD 1.0 square bill crank bait in shad color. Check all the trees in the back middle of that cove and out toward the main lake from there.

Fiberglass work's with a bow on the end.

Tilapia are herbivorous fish that feed mainly on algae, aquatic plant cells and almost any plant-based food source.

How long does it take to get an email conformation after you submit application? I'm trying for this Saturday.

Immediatly. You should have your confirmation before you exit but....it does not matter any more. The crowds have left.

Tilapia were not stocked. They are invasive species. If caught they are never to be live released. They must be gutted or Gilles.. There is a fine for releasing them live. Luminant info states this clearly on the paper map you will receive at the gate when you pay launch fee & enter the gate. So feel free to keep all you catch. No size limit or creel limit. Go for it. It's a great place to take young children because it can be nonstop action & we all know how short attention spans can be on young children. Great for grilling. Enjoy. cheers flag
