After 4 years of golden algae every year and dead water , the old girl is back ! No fish kill this year , and the fishing is the best I have seen in about 5 years. Even the stripper guides are coming back. We have been catching 100's of crappie , and the black bass are just unreal. They are huge and everywhere. Whitney has always been a lake were you have to really no to catch fish. But this year is going to be fun !

May your wiener schnitzel always stay above your lederhosein.

Those stripper guides are incredible. Just be careful when the strippers are biting.

Too bad the Smallmouth still seem to be non-existant since the kill. Or at least I haven't heard of any being caught. Always had such fun catching them there.

my brother and i fished whitney last saturday and had a field day, we caught
close to 40 bass with some really good fish. One of those magic days. next time
we go out will be sure to take binoculars to keep and eye out for strippers and
wad of dollar bills. by the way a year ago my buddy weighed in a 3 lb smallmouth
at Texas Farm Bureau tournament

I don't think there's been a bloom in 3 years. The fishing has been steadily getting better since the last one.

Wish they would stock with smallmouth again
