They are scattered in the rivers right now.
Where Thursday they were in the deepest parts of the river, today we caught the majority in 7' to 2 FOW
There are still plenty out deep in 15-21 FOW, but they are running to the shallows finally.
They are a little harder to find, but you can still catch them
Put between 30-40 in the boat, but only 20 in the cooler for the ride home.

we caught a few today, mostly males today and one female with eggs, not very ripe. we found a few but they are on the move. fish we caught were sitting on the bottom. Had to shake the jig in thier face. Todays pattern, move often and try everything. ha

COMING SOON! .. THE STICKLE HOOK " the stay level sickle hook". sits level in the water with all knots.! Provides better hook sets and more natural jigging motion. No more adjusting the knot, gluing , or tying loop knots that cause the hook point to tangle in the loop, or worse knick the line.. The jighook that will make all others obsolete !

What Leanin post said.
To catch any numbers, you had to move around.
They are scattered all over the rivers and creeks.
But at least some males are in shallow now, but not in the regular places from years past.
We found them cause my wife saw a shaded area and said she wanted to try it.
Low and behold the males were there.
Should have figured cause there were females all over the place out in around 7'
The males had to be close by.
Yes a few of the females eggs were mushy and some were not.
They all still had eggs

woman have some kind of special gift, that they seem to be able to instinctively know where the fish are. you must have learned early on to listen . ha

im thinking when the water was low, all that new green vegetation grew along the banks, and now that the water is covering it, that is a prime piece of structure to drop eggs on. That might be why they arent in the usual spots., they got something a little better than an old stump this year.

was there green vegetation where yall found them?

Not that I could see.
They were at what I call the flats on the left side just before the south and middle intersection
They were on the very bottom of any individual structure.
Couldn't find any on the big structure, but if there was any stand alone structure, you could snatch one or two off it.
The females were out further all over lay downs and big structure.

Ooohhhh my, I've been screaming that exact pattern for a month down here now....
I always tell folks don't forget about the bottom of the lake being structure.....

Great report! This is definitely an odd year in that we've had a bunch of warm weather but the fish are late to the party. I guess I'm just used to the past few years where the lakes have been so low.
