GV is a really fickle lake. If I don't fish it 5x a week I have trouble finding good concentrations of fish. The dam and Twin Coves ALWAYS hold fish, but they can get really hard to catch this time of year.

I practiced on it twice back when I was fishing tourneys and I never got the first bite. I think it is just like any other lake though, you just have to put in the time to find the fish and what they like to bite. I had the same results on Joe Pool, Ray Hub, and Lewisville. I think I just need about a years worth of steady fishing on them and I'd begin to catch fish. Getting a guide to fish with you would speed up the process. The body of water that I had my best luck fishing it was the same deal, I couldn't buy a bite when I first started fishing it, I spent one day with someone that was really good on that body of water and that changed everything.........I began to realize what types of cover held fish and was catching them in places that weren't shown to me.

The vine isn't much different than most lakes! The only real difference is she is always about 2 weeks behind! As far as your struggles... Fishing has been tough out there w the lake down! Very inconsistent bite! One here and one there! I do know(besides this front) it has been on fire lately! Get you a lizard or baby brush hog right now and go to work!

I fished it for 12 hours yesterday with only 3 fish to show for it. I think the front messed with them.

I caught 3 good fish up to 5.5lbs sight fishing last week. Only fished for 2 hours, but I saw 40-50 bass cruising. Few were locked on. One fish cruising was 8lbs +. Here is the photo

On ur jigs then thin them out! Finesse cut them and cut down a speed craw! My jigs may have a total of 15 strands! Fish are shallow right now

GV is good lake if you know where to head. Right now shallow in the afternoon.... give it a week of 80's weather and hit up West twin cove one morning with a north breeze... #money

Iv fished this lake for 25 years consistently. It has a few regular's it likes to work with i.e. (Berk power worm , Red shad color, T rig, 6 inch)

we pulled out an few 3's and and one 8lb+ two weeks ago at around noon.

work the main points till it warms up. They are in about 12 ft right now unless it warms up. Then they are cruising the 2-3's

It's spawning season my friend! hop onto a topographic map and find spawning flats. like everyone is saying, they'll be cruising in the shallows. this is my favorite time of year to catch them, throw a weightless wacky rig.
