If you want a show where they reel in 6 fish and have 17 commecials this may not be your favorite but It will be entertaining and different. I liked it and will continue to watch it.

The old show was bad enough. I suppose it hasn't improved.

ya as a marketing guy, i have to ponder how bass champs benefited from that episode? i would encourage more footage of weigh ins, interviews with competitors of all ages, time on the water and fish and smiles being weighed in. if the next episode is just him and his "gf" i can't watch more of that....good thing is the TV show doesn't reflect how awesome the events are and how much fun it is to fish bass champs.

I would have never started off a new season and supposed new format with that show. The Fish/GF show should have been done down the road when the show has settled in some.

Sorry to Hijack this thread with my first post here, i am a long time bass champs tv fan all the way back to the HDNET days when they first started, I found this thread through a search trying to find out what happened to the show and the reason for the radical change? I also sent the host John an e-mail through his web site and FB but have not heard back from him. I have always LOVED the show, its the only like it that features everyday fisherman like myself competing for cool stuff that basschamps gives away! I have NOTHING against FIsh and his style, funny stuff for sure, but I always liked the way the previous host took the competition so seriously like the show mentioned above where he fished an event on Twok! My Questions are this and maybe you guys are in the know? Is this the new BassChamps For EVER? Fish Fishing the events with his GF? From the Online clips thats what it looks like? Have they abandoned the tournament coverage and techniques the show has been know for all these years? I have always thought Bass Champs did an excellent job covering their events on TV, I loved seeing the championship shows and occasional Twok show were the host fished. But Im not sure I can get into the Fish and his GF show fishing BassChamps tournaments, its like making fun of the events itself? And it seems the host John is leaving the show? I guess I am just wondering like a lot of the other post here, how does Fish fishing with his GF benefit the anglers fishing the trail? Seems like just another fishing show and not featuring what the guys do on basschamps?

The last 8 or so shows that I recorded ( pre set for new shows only ) have been the same show with Fish Fishburne at Fork...

I don't record it any longer...

They will figure it out eventually and fix the show. I always thought it would be cool to do like Texas Team Trail does and film anglers fishing each tournament. I realize this involves camera boats and what not. But if they had 3 camera guys in 3 boats maybe paid the boat drivers 200$ a day to drive the camera guys around they could follow around boats and film. if you got on fish and wanted to be on the show you could have a phone number to call. Just give your location to the camera guys and they would head your way. it works great for Texas team trail. I'm sure some of the sticks on the champs trail wouldn't mind a camera boat around. Not like it hurts them Cecil and Castledine have been on the show many times and it doesn't hurt them.

I thought it was okay. I would definitely like to see more fishing but this show was setting the stage for all that. At least I hope
