As always, another awesome video, thanks Ben. Meeting new friends and fishing with friends, it doesn't get any better.

Went out fishing this evening. I was using the fly rod with a grey & white bead chain clouser again today. I hit my first crappie hole and caught nothing but small bluegill, lmb and a few very small crappie. I moved to my next crappie hole and was catching a crappie on every cast but only about 1 out of 10 was keeper size. I did some more exploring but didn't find any fish so I headed to another spot I've fished before. I found a few white bass, in addition to a ton of bluegill. I ended up catching 6 white bass. They wanted a much more active presentation tonight. I started by letting it sink slowly, then pulling it on the bottom slowly, but nothing. I then started stripping it 3 times quickly and pausing, but nothing. Finally, I started stripping it very quickly 5 times before pausing and letting it sink again. That was the action they wanted. They either bit it on the 4th or 5th strip, or immediately on the pause. Fishing should be great this week!!!!!!

Went last Sunday and checked out Newman's on the way. Gate Closed and posted no entry of any type. Called Nails Creek Park and was told unstable bridge/damage due to floods and until they could stabilize and make safe, NO ENTRY. Stated a 500.00 fine if you're caught at Newman's.

We were told we could go to Irwin, which we did. Hiked a ways and caught 13. Mostly females, full of eggs. Not bloody yet. Oh, yeah, IT WAS COLD!

I scampered out to the Lake Somerville spillway early Wednesday morning before work to test my latest creations from the vice.. What a beautiful morning to find that my new fly design works great! Only fished for about one hour but that was just long enough to satisfy my curiosity about the fly and the fishing below the dam..

This morning I went down stream from the Irwin Bridge and got a limit of w/b. Caught most of them on crawfish. The little perch tried to clean me out. The crappie were biting on white curly tail. Had only one keeper out of ten. I put my first w/b on the stringer around 9:15 and had my limit around 2:00 pm. Had quite a few throwback. Caught them all in the same hole. There were only five female in my limit. The creek is still pretty full of fish. They still like it slow and on the bottom.

Went Wednesday and only saw 1 guy with a mess of fish. Not everyone is catching and I talked to a few guys. You have to find that right hole. Sure a lot harder than a few weeks ago when I was there and fish are a lot smaller now. All males.

Great catch Yota & White bass interceptor thumb

Today and tomorrow should be incredible fishing. I could already see the warming trend showing signs of improvement on Tuesday. They were active and feeding on a shallow sand bar.

Prior to the cold front I was fishing in one of the smaller creeks with Ben and I caught a female that had blood coming out of her. Ben also noticed some activity in the shallow water that day. It's been fun to explore all the creeks. The differences in water quality, depth, flow, etc. not only between the different creeks, but within the single creek has been a very interesting study.

In Jardelle, for example, the water is crystal clear. In Nails, the water is extremely dirty. What I did notice though is the water quality above the Flag Pond cut was much better than below the cut. Even then, it's still far more dirty than any creek with the exception of Birch.

Nice bag of fish Mike. This warmer weather should get these fish moving around and feeding.
