I would assume they are still checking the box at Newman's but the lady at the gate house said to check in at Irwin or Nails.

The creeks are heating up flame.

I caught 11 white bass, 4 keeper crappie, 4 bluegill, 2 lmb and 3 catfish today. The white bass bit until about 4:30 and then seemed to quit. The best bite seems to be between 1:30 and 4:30 right now. Billy showed up around 5 pm and he had about the same luck as I did. He caught some crappie and lmb, but only one white bass.

The crappie, lmb and catfish bite really picked up from about 5:30 to dark. I sure wish I could be out there tomorrow. There will be a rising pressure tomorrow. The last time I fished in those conditions was one of the best days of my life.

Yes Cedar, not Newman's. I'll probably fish Newman's on Saturday when I have enough time to walk in. I bet the crappie bite in Nails is on fire too.

I was listening to the Outdoor show on the radio this morning. Simon was talking about how crazy good the white bass fishing was yesterday. That day before the storm has proven to be the best fishing over and over again. Anybody fish yesterday? Any reports? Man, I sure hate having to work for a living bang

On a side note, the little bass are going crazy in the ponds. I caught about 60 small bass in the ponds the last couple of evenings. They kept striking my fly line so I put on a topwater popper and wore them out one day. First signs of a good top water bite beginning. I'm also seeing some beds in a couple of the ponds. The sunfish bite has still been slow though. Guess I'll have to steal some Tedrick Hair bugs from the video guy and catch me a few of those big green carp grin

I have no doubt you will fill a stringer with that magic rooster tail. You better bring a cart. Twenty-five one and a half pound white bass is aweful heavy to carry all the way from the creek to the parking lot grin

J-Moe... making me cry!

I'm all in for tomorrow. I think I'll start at NB, but won't be rushed... plan to take the day off and enjoy some time in the woods!

Been a couple years since I have been in the creeks at Somerville. What are the pay requirements? I know newmans bottom and below irwin bridge require honor box payment or at nails creek park. What about fishing in the WMA above irwin bridge, the WMA on nails creek, or cedar creek?
Thanks

The WMA are free access but you are required to wear a hunter orange vest so the hog hunters won't shoot you by mistake. Cedar is open access @ CR125
