OK so last night me and my brother were fishing on a little pier in rockport. and all of the sudden these guys came. me and my brother were the only ones on the pier and they had to pick the spot right next to us! so his first cast went right over all four of ours!!!! Then as i was trying to help untangle the lines he preceded to tell me it was MY fault!!!! eek2
I honestly think he thought he could run us off cause we were teenagers or something but we never moved.
they ended up moving down the pier a little ways and we ended up leaving. we came back a couple minutes later cause we forgot our fish grip and they were back in our spot..
somebody please tell me how to get rid of people like this!!!!

Nothing irritate them more than ignoring them completely.. Take your knife out and cut it after a 3rd line cross.

Take that mullet and thanks them for the bait. I got a guy down in Surfside throw a few nice fat mullet at me once. I thanks him (He got irritate real fast) and use it as King cutbait. Nothing better than seeing his face when I catch fish.

People like that happens all the time. Dont let them bother your outdoor

Fillet the mullet. Cut it into skinny but long stripe with skin attached. Good alternative Kings and spanish mack bait wink

Should have called the warden. I thought it was against the law for someone to interfere with someone who is legally fishing.

Be nice to them. Make a conversation. Ask them if they know much about cars because your so so car died a couple times on the way to the fishing spot. Ask them what they drove out there. Then talk to them about sports. Tell them bye and say nice talking to yall. BUT on the way out slash their tires. banana

Good job taking the high road!!! Back in my teenage years my brother and I would've went to jail if someone would have thrown something at one of us and the other was around, win, lose, or draw them dudes would've had a fight boxing on their hands. That being said the above suggestions are far more logical. cheers

I like daves advice they probable had booze and weed in there car . The game warden would have kept them busy. Don't take on trash that bully people let the game wardens do their job . That what we pay them for

I don't know what it is about pier fishing but I had a similar thing happen when I was a kid out in galveston. My dad wasn't there because he had gone to the restroom. I saw my line go slack so I jump up to grab my pole thinking a fish had it and was coming towards the pier. When I got up and looked it was actually someone caught on the line to my left. So I picked up my rod and started walking towards him to help untangle it. Before I could get over to him the guy reached up and grabbed my line and cut it in front of his rig and pulled his stuff off the rest of my line in the water and then let it go and walked off. I was so upset but afraid to say something because it was an adult. Also it wasn't like I had crossed any lines I was fishing straight out in front of where we were. I also wanted to tell my dad what happened but I decided not to because I was sure my dad would get in a fight with the guy. Then we'd probably get kicked off the pier. I wanted to just keep fishing since we rarely got to go fishing in Galveston. So I just retied and started fishing again without saying anything. But then I had to respool my spinning reel because we were using really thick line and the spool didn't hold that much and the line the guy cut reduced the spool too much.
