Anyone care to share some info on where to catch some whites?
My BIL is down from Chicago and we went to my parents lake house on Cypress Springs this weekend to try for some spawning crappie, but once we got down there we realized we had septic problems and spent half the day Saturday dealing with the guys fixing that. Anyway didn't ever even launch my boat. He is wanting to fish while he is here(leaves early Sunday morn) and Tawakoni is close to the house, or Hubbard is close too?
Thanks Matt

hello matt...
it has been years since there was a nice rain but there used to be reports about it...i haven't seen any for about 5-6 years...
drive to the spill way at Tawakoni...if the water is spilling over and there is flow and the creek is up (that kinda hard to explain if u never seen it up)
but flow is the key ...
bring a cast net...
get you some shad...(if there are tons of ppl then the shad will be out near the middle...if not they will be near the sides)
.5 oz sinker with a 3-way swivel flouro carbon on the hook size 2
toss it out in the middle and let the flow take it...
if it was like it was 5-6 years ago...you will limit out on hybrid in 20 mins and whites in maybe 30...
if the water is at what it is supposed to be the middle will be at least 8-10 ft deep if not deeper...ppl will wear waders and walk to the edge of the drop off ...yes there is a drop off...
and it will go from knee deep to over your head so beware....
let me know how you do...and
fish about 10-30 yards south of the bridge...
watch what ppl do...u will lose hooks bc there rock pile in the middle about 15 yard south of the bridge...and they will stack up there...
no cell signal at that spot...
good luck ...
take pics if you can of the creek for me as i am in austin now...
let me know how u do if u do go...

I don't think he was trying to slam you or be rude. Yes I was wanting to take the boat out. My BIL doesn't get to fish very often

I completely apologize fluffy! I was not trying to slam. I was honestly confused and thought he might be too! and it looked like he wanted to take the boat out based on his post. I love creek fishing and highly recommend it. It just looked like your directions would only work for a bank/ creek situation is all. Much love man and I promise I have no ill will. Come fish with me sometime I would be glad to show you that I am a good person. And once again I apologize if my post seemed like it was slamming you, I fully state that that was not my intent!

Coming from Royce City, I would launch at the ramp on the NW side of the 2 mile bridge. Open now after the recent rain. Follow the bridge East and look to the NE shore for a large concrete pier. You will see a sizable area of trees there. Use your FF and find the hump. This in one of the first places they show up every year. Good hunting.
