Do you mean you are running a deep crank through shallow spawning areas? Or do you mean deep cranking for pre spawn bass? Have not heard of deep cranking shallows during the spawn, try that on Fork!!

You are not the only one and NO, the throwing deep diving CBs in shallow water NEVER WORKS! Period.

Well there is fish that stay deep (12-15ft) during spawn.... so are you talking about throwing a CB in shallow water?? i know that people that fish salt water throw a 10xd in 3-5ft off water for Big Red's and that eat it up. something about digging in the mud drivers them red fish crazy!!

i have caught fish with one minus, or bandits shallow on beds but more from reaction like a topwater...Methinks you are talking through your shorts...

I have read about that in Bassmaster..Seems like it was lakes with clear water but it was relative..Meaning 10 ft water on humps with stumps or vegetation...I suspect a very isolated occurrence, I cant remember..Also fish spawn in tops of trees in deeper water..I have never run into it either...

Ive done it before but not for spawning bass. Caught two that weighed 5 pounds each back to back in 5ft of water.
