Is anyone catching anything on lavon or does the rapid rise of the water level have all the fish messed up? Fished all around Collin park and nothing not even shad? Could someone wiser than me explain!!

Crappie are being CAUGHT Right NOW underneath the 380 Bridge/Audie Murphy Pkwy between the towns of Farmersville & Princton !!! Sometimes you have to get out of your comfort zone if you want to get them. Get you some minnows or Jigs and a BOBBER they are there!! 2cents

I jigged all over that lake today, like last week, no bites. Also jigged by 380 bridge, no luck. Saw lots of people there, did not see them catching fish. Maybe I just missed it.

Anyways, I need to try plan B, minnows!! So where can you get minnows around lavon?

I talked to my Uncle who has a boat slip out on Lavon and he said they haven't come up in the shallows yet that he has seen. Still waiting for the news..... I keep hearing people say they are there and others saying they aren't..... I will believe it when someone post pics until then I say they aren't there yet.

I fished by the damn shallow and deep and nothing. The only thing I did notice is that they are allowing people do drive over the road by the dam I saw all kinds of cars crossing the damn and its been years since I saw that.

If I get a day off work and the wind gives me a break I'll take my kayak out and see if I can find anything. I live just east of Lucas in Branch.

You can get minnows at lakeway, leroys, and a few of the gas stations off of 380.

Molly's looking for ducks, she's more of a hunter dog than fishing dog......

OMG, you guys are zeroing in on my secret spot.

Took me 7 hrs to catch 2 crappie, and I did not see anyone catching fish. When the fish move to the real shallow, less than 3 feet, it's going to be tough fishing with all that flooded vegetation. Do they make weedless jigs?

Thx, I found some. These could be the ticket when they go real shallow.. These come as small as 1/32. I use 1/16, never used a 1/32 jig.

I went this morning and caught about 5 keepers in about 10 to 15 ft of water . 3 of them had eggs . Water temp was still low . I used jigs to entice them in to minnow baited hooks. Wind made it hard to fish , i could have gotten a few more but couldnt stay on marked fish.

I went last night to the slips and it was bad. The only bite that I had was 5 four inch crappies. There weren't many people on B dock, so I knew that it wasn't going to be ON. The water temp was 57 at Collin Park.

This was my fear. Lavon was pounded heavily when it was down. Boat shows in coves catching limts daily. I think lavon will recover, but it may take years and it will require a relatively normal pool level.
