Hey guys, does anyone know any good areas on lake worth for bank fishing? I would like to try and catch some flat heads there. I have never been there so any advice is appreciated. I know you can't eat fish from there but I usually only catch and release anyway. Thanks.

There are several parks. In general, fishing at worth has been slow ever since the dredging.

Oh I didn't know they were dredging it - I guess fishing there is out of the question then. Thanks for the info.

They are done with the dredging. They just destroyed the fishery and did not do any habitat recovery.

Does anybody know if casino beach is open back up to the public? I used to do pretty well there, but I am not sure if you are allowed to fish there anymore. I know it was closed for a while. I would like to try it out again.

Thanks,
Olen

Yeah, there are some big fish in there but it may take a while before fishing will be good there again.

TPWD is probably not likely to restock it be a use of the consumption advisory, and if they do it will be FLMB. The good news is it should be restocked with releases from Eagle Mountain.

Yeah, hopefully it will be good lake to fish again one day. They need to fix the consumption advisory issue as well, seems like it's been there forever now.

Dredging did nothing to the fishing other than made things a little wonky at times while they were dredging. The fishing is and has been fine even during the dredging.

The contamination issue in the lake won't fix itself in our lifetime. It's too costly to fix and there's no interest in doing so. It's getting better but will take time, a very long time.

Thank you Sir, good to know that the fishing is fine. Can you recommend any decent bank spots to try?

I would try the spot on the pic. I always saw people people bank fishing there...also I know someone who pulled in a 45# flattie at that spot last year. Flatties are hard to locate in lakes..but in the warming months leading up to summer I would try shallow areas that are really close to deeper holes cuz they go shallow at night to feed and also go shallow to prepare for spawn since the shallower water warms up faster. That spot in the pic is a rocky point that's alot like a breakwall. And breakwalls is the kind of areas we fish when lake flathead fishing we tear em up here in kansas at the local county lake in late June through mid July which is right before the spawn gets into full swing up here. Also. When fishing for flats when the water is cooler than 65-70 degrees, the best bait u can use is the biggest live shad you can catch because they tend to stay alive longer with the cooler water. And it's most predatory fish's #1 food source..hope this helps . Let us know how you do and where you decide to go
