My last 2 trips have been VERY slow. I fished mid day saturday and yesterday evening into darkness and between the two trips only managed about 8 fish. Last Wednesday we boated about 30-40. those last two trips are the worst trips of the season and I have been hitting the creek about 4 days a week for a month now.

Just those pesky catfish bait sized ones. With this warming trend, they are starting to pop up everywhere. You can see them cruising the shorelines in that clear water.

Finally getting a chance to head up the creek(away from lake past I-35) Is anything happening that way. I know the best way to find out is to fish it. I will have a buddy who does not get to go to often, so I am trying to find a place to make it worth his time. Although any time spent fishing is good time. Will be in a canoe.
If not may head to twok for cat fishing by the state park. will post results wherever I go. Just hoping the water clears some.
Thanks in advance for any help.

May the Good Lord bless you with a bend in your rod.

The sand bass run is pretty much done, but the black bass are still up there, some good ones. There may still be some crappie up there but bigger portion of them should be in the bullrushes and flooded vegetation between 35 and the railroad trestle, BACK TOWARDS THE LAKE FROM 35.

The crappie moved out of the creek the first part of April. I was hitting the creek about 5x a week from the first week of March until the second week of April and the crappie bite went almost nonexistent around April 10th. I did see 2 small crappie caught by the old train tracks saturday but they were very small.

I was down there in march for the sandies, and did well. Haven't been back but it sounds like it may be time for some dockshooting.

Hey guys,

Long time reader of the forum. After running into another TFF member out at Lake Wax I figured I should register and post. I have been fishing off the dam on my days off. Been catching some decent sized Cats with chicken liver. Caught something last night that broke my line with a fight off of a worm. I think that storm may have woke the big one up!

Anyone having any luck on lake Wax with anything else then Catfish?
