Roger is correct , unless you re engineer one like i have when I gutted mine I lost count of the broken welds. I love my boat but it's not much of an Xpress anymore

If you haven't priced those Xpress models they are expensive as all get out. I'd look at getting a used glass boat

What model of Xpress do you have and HP on your boat?

I have a 2003 bought new ,H51 17 foot 90 Merc. I havent had any problems with the boat or trailer. You do hear a lot of complaints about the trailers but mine has been fine. The boat has a very s mooth ride for an aluminum boat. But as someone said earlier have you priced these boats? Not cheap and the resale value not great. I would spend that money on a used glass. Don't do it. There's a reason you don't see many of these boats around. If your only going to fish on flat calm days on small lakes or back waters, fine. Otherwise you better be an experienced welder. A 21' Xpress is like fishing from a sailboat. You sit down to re-tie in a 10mph wind and by the time you stand back up your on the other end of the lake. You could get an Xpress and customize it like Tiltman, but then it's not really an Xpress.

After 20+ years fishing from a 20'&21' boats, I think I'm going to stick with a Legend or might swap to a Phoenix. I fish lots of big waters and it'll prob be best.

I also helped my son purchase a X17 and upgraded to a 115. We didn't have any problems with it.

I don't like to blast companies publically. I will send you a PM with my dealings with Xpress and I was on a Prostaff tied to them.
