Been busy chasing Crappie and kind of took a break from the sunnies. Changed the pace and hit the Comal River and a couple of local creeks to catch some sunnies. The bite was good and all of the water bodies are in great shape. Caught some nice Redbreast in the 8 to 9 inch range, some fat Bluegill in the 7 to 8 inch range, some fat Greens in the 6 to 8 inch range, some nice Bass in the 2 to 4 pound range and rounding out the catch were some fat Red/Orange spotted sunfish. I also bagged my fourth Rio of the year. A nice 8 inch fish. Fish were caught using worms with both float and bottom techniques being used. All fish were released to fight again. I saw numerous bass staying on nest. Won't belong and the gills will follow. Fish were in 3 to 8 feet of water. Some good weekday creek and river fishing. It just don't get any better. fish

You might be seeing less big redear because of the up tick in fishing pressure those Guad lakes just below Canyon have seen in the past few years. The bream fishing has been highly publicized not only on this forum but other forums, TPWD website and magazine, and other publications. It was only a matter of time before it caught up to the actual fish in the system and they went into deep covert mode. Not to mention that some of the folks who came across these sites and publications keeping and releasing a different ratio of fish than some of us on this board. Don't forget; no size or creel limits on sunfish in TX.
