Well with the water levels rising and warmer temperatures coming, I've thought about spring time catfish fishing along the rip raps. Can anyone refresh me on what the temperature usually is when they make that big push to the rip rap? I've heard the saying when the cotton wood trees start to bloom but I just wanted to check the water temperature. Thanks!

It is time. Just get your bait out there. Season is here.

+1 , I'm hearing 55 degrees main lake and 60 in the shallows. Good Luck!

Well no catfish were caught on Sunday morning. Went to highway 66 around 7:30 or 8:00 and fished there for probably an hour and a half. Then we moved to miller road and tried there with no luck. I guess they just aren't there yet? Any help? I'm trying to have a fish fry soon with friends. Thanks!

So does this mean that people are starting to catch some cats off of i30 or does it need to be warmer? I want to make sure that the next time I may that drive it's worth it lol

its a little early for channel cats on the rocks IMO. Blues have been moving shallow along creek beds, and then up into shallow flats.

Ive always had my best luck for channels in mid may - july.

just my .02

Ok thanks! I was thinking it was a bit early but wasn't 100% sure.
