Fished some local creeks yesterday and the bite was good. Fished from 11am till about 5pm. Water conditions were awesome and the creeks were in very good shape. Caught a bunch of Bluegills in the 6 to 7 inch range and a bunch of Bass in the one to two pound range. A few nice Redbreast in the 8 inch range rounded out the catch. Fish were caught using worms with a float technique. Fish were in 2 to 6 feet of water. I saw several Bass sitting on beds. All fish were released to fight again. Creek fishing at it's best. It just don't get any better. fish

Great looking water and nice fish, Chuck.
Got to fish the trout pond at Waterloo Park in Denison on Tuesday. No trout, but 2 sunfish. Caught a 6" green on a copper Super Duper and a 3" bluegill on a orange & silver Kastmaster spoon. It was a beautiful day, 80 and sunny, with a gentle breeze.

Nice catch!!! I hit the gravel pits today (Saxet Lake). Wish I would have taken worms, on small pieces of shrimp I was getting lots of nibbles but nothing that would take it. Ended up with 3 bites, one crappie, one small 1 1/2' gar and the third bite when he left a small tooth in my arm.

My personal best is still swimming out there just getting bigger. One of these days I will quit feeding it.

Amazing, and I bet you are the only one fishing for sunfish, if anyone is fishing that area at all. I see the same thing in pond fishing. Nobody fishes most of the ponds for sunfish or at all. If they do fish the pond they throw some huge crank bait. They never realize that lurking below the surface are some of the most beautiful fish God has put on this earth. Gotta love it!!

Actually in the inner city ponds and creeks a lot of people target the sunfish for catfish bait. I have also seen em on stringers. eeks

Thanks "Gitter" for the reply. cheers As for the fishing pressure some get a lot. nuts All of the community parks get a lot of fishing pressure as well as the green belts and nature trails along some creeks. breakdance I do have some spots that are pretty hard to get to and they don't get fished that much. thumb

Those sure are good looking creeks especially to be in the middle of San Antonio.

Sounds like you had a good time.
